Introduction to old age pension scheme
This scheme of the Delhi government is mainly for senior citizens whose income is limited or who are deprived of family help. Through this scheme, people aged 60 and above are provided with pension of ₹ 2,000 to ₹ 2,500 per month. Especially additional benefits are also provided for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Minority Community.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants have to fulfill the following conditions to avail this scheme:
- The age of the applicant should be at least 60 years.
- The applicant should be a resident of Delhi for the last 5 years.
- The annual income of the family should be less than ₹ 1,00,000.
- The applicant’s Aadhaar card linked bank account should be in Delhi.
- The applicant should not be the beneficiary of any other government pension or assistance.

The following documents are required when applying for the scheme:
- Age certificate: Aadhaar card, voter ID, birth certificate or school certificate.
- Residence Certificate: Ration Card, Electricity/Water Bill or Bank Passbook.
- Bank Account Details: Aadhaar Linked Bank Account.
- For SC/ST/Minority Community:
- Caste certificate
- Self -proclamation letter verified by religious institute
- Income Certificate: According to the format available on the portal.
Pension and benefits
Following is the pension amount given under this scheme:

This amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through PFMS (Public Financial Management System).
Application process (How to Apply)
Online application process
- Go to the E-DISTRICT portal.
- Create and login your login ID.
- Select the “Old Age Pension Scheme” option.
- Fill the required information and upload the document.
- Submit the form and note the application number.
Offline application process
- Go to your nearest District Social Welfare Office.
- Get and fill the application form.
- Attach all the required documents.
- Submit the filled form to the concerned officer.
Timing of application process
After submitting the application, it is checked by the District Social Welfare Office. Usually this process is completed in 45 days. If the application is approved, pension starts from next month.
