What is UGC NET?
University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test or UGC NET is a national eligibility test for the post of Assistant Professor and/or JRF (Junior Research Fellow). UGC NET exam is conducted by NTA for 83 subjects all over India. The examination is conducted twice a year in online mode and consists of two papers: Paper-I and Paper-II.
Paper-I is common to all candidates and tests their teaching and research aptitude, while Paper-II is subject-specific and tests the candidate’s knowledge in their chosen subject. Service Conditions for UGC NET JRF/SRF/RA/DA
DA or Dearness Allowance is a fixed percentage of the salary, which is provided to government employees. Its purpose is to keep up with inflation for employees. JRF, SRF and RA are also entitled to DA.

JRF and SRF are entitled to casual leaves; However, the leaves of the research associate are determined by the host institution. Participation in the above journeys for scientific programmes/workshops is the same as before in 2nd AC by rail. As per government guidelines, maternity leave will be issued to female candidates in all categories.
