NIFT Counselling 2022 (Started), Seat Allotment
NIFT 2022 Seat Allotment (2n Round) Issuing 20 June 2022. National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai is the conducting authority of the NIFT entrance exam. It offers various UG and PG professional courses in the field of Fashion Designing and Technology. On qualifying for the exam, candidates can get admission to the university and its affiliated campuses. 16 affiliated campuses of NIFT participate in the counseling session every year. The counseling is conducted in multiple rounds across 16 campuses of NIFT. NIFT Counseling 2022 has been started through online mode. Candidates are able to download their counseling call letter through login.
Eligible candidates are required to register themselves online on the website to participate in the counselling.
There is no registration fee for the first counselling. For further rounds, candidates have to pay Rupee. 5000/- as counseling fee.
The seats are allotted on the basis of the qualifying rank of the candidate. Candidates can participate in the counseling by downloading the counseling call letter from the website. Candidates have to register using their credentials i.e. Form Number, Date of Birth and Password.
NIFT Counseling Schedule 2022

NIFT Counseling Process 2022
To participate in the counselling, candidates have to follow the procedure given below:
Registration:
- Firstly the candidates have to register themselves on the website.
- Without registering, no candidate is allowed to appear in the counseling round.
- Candidates can register for counseling by using their credentials, such as form number, date of birth and password.
- They are advised to remember and store their password safely for future references.
Campus Options:
- At the time of registration, candidates have to fill the choice of the campus in which they wish to appear in the counselling.
- Candidates can choose any one of the 16 campuses of NIFT.
Download Call Letter:
- After successful registration, the candidate will receive a “System Generated Letter” through SMS and E-mail on their registered mobile and email id.
- The letter contains the details of the nodal officer and the documents required for counseling and admission.
Counseling:
- Counseling takes place on campus, which is selected by the candidate through offline mode.
- Candidates will have to report to the counseling center in the given reporting time for document verification and allotment of seats.
- On the day of counselling, candidates are required to report at 9.30 am at the selected NIFT campus for document verification and allotment of seats.
- The original documents will be returned after due verification.
- Please note that the presence of the candidate in any NIFT campus is mandatory along with the required documents in original.
Allotment of seats:
- After verification of documents, the allotment of seats takes place in front of the nodal officer of the counseling premises.
- The candidate can select the seat by clicking on the monitor in the presence of the Nodal Officer. Accordingly, the seat allotted to a candidate will be removed from the pool of vacant seats displayed on the campus screen.
- Candidates are advised to appear in the counseling hall and wait for their call in order of their general merit rank.
fee payment:
- A candidate who is allotted a seat will have to pay the fee notified immediately at the counseling premises.
- If a candidate fails to pay the fee, then after the seat has been offered, the offer will be withdrawn and the seat will be allotted to the next candidate in the merit list.
- After the seat allotment, the candidate will be issued an allotment letter/receipt duly signed by the Nodal Officer of the campus.
- Course/Campus chosen by
A candidate is final and cannot be changed later. - The nodal officer will give the duly signed admission receipt after the candidate has deposited the full fee.
- No candidate should leave the counseling venue without the admission fee receipt.
- The candidate is advised to check the details printed/written in the admission fee receipt.
Reservation of Seats:
There are certain seats which will be reserved for categories like SC/ ST/ PWD candidates (PHP)/ Foreign Nationals/ SAARC/ NRIs in each program which are given below:

NIFT Admission 2022
Admission is given strictly on the basis of general merit rank. Candidates will get admission in the same campus in which they have allotted seat.
Immediately after the allotment of seats, candidates have to pay the admission fee if he/she wants to get admission immediately.
The nodal officer provides the duly signed admission receipt after the candidate has deposited the full fee.
Documents required for counselling/admission:
Candidates must bring the original certificates along with the photocopies given below:
- System generated letter/e-mail received by the candidate.
- Photograph (2 passport and 4 stamp size).
- Certificate of passing 10+2 or equivalent examination.
- Certificate of passing 10+2 or equivalent examination, indicating the subjects offered by him/her in the examination. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for BF Tech.
- Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed High School/Higher Secondary Examination.
- Category Certificate.
- Semester Fee – Demand Draft of Rs. 1,26,900/- (Non-NRI) in favor of NIFT HO payable at the counseling city.
- Copy of school leaving certificate of class 12th (Only for domicile seats.
- Valid PWD Certificate.
- Copy of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year graduation mark sheet / self attested copy of final year certificate (for master’s programmes).
- Commitment to the candidate seeking provisional admission.
- Undertaking from students as per anti-ragging provisions.
- Commitment regarding eligibility, fee and refund.
- Medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format for withdrawal of admission.
- Authorization letter from the candidate who is not in a position to appear in person (Not applicable for Divyang candidates).
NIFT 2022 Status Test Details
- Based on the result of written test GAT and CAT, shortlisted B.Des candidates will be called for another exam called Situation Test.
- The candidates shortlisted for B.Des from the written entrance test are required to appear for a Situational Test to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling and innovative ability on a given situation with a given set of materials There is a practical test.
- No additional material will be provided/allowed.
- Models will be assessed on space visualization, innovative and creative use of the given material, composition of elements, color scheme, construction skills, finesse of the model and overall presentation etc.
- These parameters will be examined while explaining the concept behind the model built.
- Since the medium of instruction at NIFT is English, the writing will be in English.
- No marks will be given for writing in any other language.
