The Board of School Education, Haryana (BSEH) conducts the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts in government schools of Haryana. HTET exam is objective type, and all questions are multiple choice. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The examination is conducted in offline mode. HTET Exam Pattern 2024 for Level I, Level II and Level III varies widely and hence candidates must go through the exam pattern for each level individually to ensure that they understand its nuances properly. Broadly speaking, the HTET exam pattern for Level II and Level III is similar, however the subject combination is different and the syllabus is also different. However, the basic features that are common across all three tiers are mentioned below.

HTET Exam Pattern 2024 for PRT, TGT, PGT
The HTET exam is conducted at three levels, each of which provides state-level certification for teaching in Haryana. Level 1 (PRT) certifies candidates to teach grades 1 to 5, focusing on students ages 6 to 11. Level 2 (TGT) qualifies candidates to teach classes 6 to 8, covering the age group of 11 to 16 years. Finally, Level 3 (PGT) certifies candidates to teach grades 9 to 12, targeting students ages 14 to 17.

HTET Level I (Primary Teacher) Exam Pattern 2024
The HTET Level Iexam consists of several sections with a total of 150 questions, each carrying one mark, giving a maximum of 150 marks. The exam starts with Child Development and Pedagogy consisting of 30 questions for 30 marks, followed by Language sections in Hindi and English, each consisting of 15 questions for a total of 30 marks. Next are Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, each having 10 questions of 10 marks, along with Haryana General Knowledge also having 10 questions of 10 marks each. The main subjects include Mathematics and Environmental Studies, each consisting of 30 questions, carrying 30 marks each. This structure ensures balanced assessment across essential learning competencies and knowledge areas.

The HTET Level II exam pattern consists of a total of 150 questions for 150 marks, which emphasize on various competencies required for teaching. It begins with Child Development and Pedagogy, consisting of 30 questions for 30 marks, which assess candidates’ understanding of educational psychology and teaching techniques. Next, language proficiency is tested in Hindi and English, consisting of 15 questions for 15 marks in each language section. Additional sections include Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning, each carrying 10 questions of 10 marks, along with Haryana General Knowledge, consisting of 10 questions of 10 marks each, which evaluates local awareness.

htet syllabus 2024
BSEH has released the official HTET syllabus for PRT, TGT and PGT for 2024 exam. HTET Level II and Level III syllabus has been updated for the upcoming exam which will be held in different districts of Haryana. For HTET 2024 exam, the syllabus for Level II and III will follow the syllabus of 2019-20 academic session. Notably, the HTET Level II (TGT) syllabus will be based on the textbooks for classes VI to X, while the Level III (PGT) syllabus will be taken from the textbooks for classes IX to XII.
