National Testing Agency has released the official notification for CSIR NET Exam 2024 which is scheduled to be held from 16th February 2025 to 28th February 2025. Interested candidates must be preparing or willing to prepare for the upcoming examination. Therefore, being aware of CSIR NET Subject List 2024 should be the top priority of the candidates. This article will talk about all the nuances related to CSIR subjects asked in the exam scheme.

CSIR NET Subject List 2024

CSIR NET exam tests the eligibility of candidates for prestigious positions such as Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Assistant Professor and PhD admissions. The examination specifically tests candidates’ knowledge in science and technology subjects. The examination is conducted in 3 parts: Part A is common to all and asks general aptitude questions, Paper B tests the subject-related understanding of the candidates and Paper C tests questions of higher order in the concerned subject. Questions are asked.

CSIR Subject List 2024: Overview

Candidates can apply for the test till 30th December 2024. CSIR NET exam is conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency. This CBT is conducted within a duration of 3 hours:

CSIR NET Subject List for Part A

Candidates applying for the National Eligibility Test, irrespective of the stream, will have to attempt this part with similar questions. This part tests the general learning and aptitude skills of the candidates with broad topics like logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparison, series formation, puzzles etc. Let us get some brief information on the 3 main topics of CSIR NET Topic List Part A:

  • Numerical Ability: This section tests the numerical aptitude of the candidates with topics like simplification, logarithms, percentages, geometry etc. These subjects are asked at the basic secondary level to test the general aptitude of the candidates.
  • logic: This section tests the general reasoning abilities of the candidates which includes topics like series formation, coding-decoding, ranking and arranging, puzzles, etc.
  • Data Interpretation and Graphical Analysis: This section tests the explanatory and analytical skills of the candidates. Topics like mean, median, mode and bar graph, line graph and pie-chart are asked.

CSIR NET Subject List for Part B

In this section of the examination the test which assesses the subject-specific knowledge of the candidates becomes special for the candidates. This subject is chosen by the candidate from a total of 5 subjects in which he/she has significant experience in his/her previous studies.
