DBT BET Syllabus & Exam Pattern – Overview

DBT BET will be held in 2025 offline mode. The BET exam consists of two sections: Section A and Section B. The DBT BET 2025 question paper will include several option questions (MCQs) designed to test the knowledge of the candidate in general aptitude, general biotechnology and special branches of biotechnology. The BET 2025 exam is divided into two parts: Part A (Aptitude and General Biotechnology) and Part B (Special branches in biotechnology).

The DBT BET 2025 exam is designed to evaluate the knowledge and merit of the candidate in both general and particular sectors of biotechnology. The examination is divided into two sections, section A and section B with a total of 200 questions. Candidates are required to try only 100 questions (50 from Section A and 50 to 50). Examination is conducted in English and includes several option questions (MCQ) completely. Each question has 3 marks, and each wrong answer has a negative marking of 1 digit. Uncontrolled questions will not be punished.

The exam pattern for DBT BET syllabus and section A includes aptitude and general biotechnology. The Aptitude section tested the understanding, logic and quantitative skills of the candidates through questions based on written paragraphs, non-verbal logic and numerical calculation. The General Biotechnology Section includes fundamental subjects such as biomolecular structure and function, recipient DNA technology, cellular processes, genetics, genomics and IPR (intellectual property rights). With 50 mandatory MCQs, who carry every 3 digits, this section evaluates the understanding of the candidate of the core biotechnology concepts and their ability to apply analytical and quantitative skills.
