The government enhances the participation of women in STEMs through wise-rains and other initiatives.

The Government of India is taking major steps to encourage more women to join science and technology. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh recently shared the details in the Rajya Sabha about women and engineering-casting (Wise-Ciran) scheme in women. This initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) aims to support women scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs through fellowships, training and funding.

What is stem

Stem means for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These topics help us solve real -world problems and create new inventions. They are important for good jobs in fields such as computers, medicine and space science. But there is a problem – enough women do not work in STEM. Programs like India’s intelligence-rains help women to get education and jobs in these areas through special training and support.

Wise-ration initiative for women STEM leaders

The Wise-Ciran Scheme offers a comprehensive fellowship program to support women researchers in all career stages in STEM areas. These initiatives address major challenges such as career brakes, funding intervals and re -entry, promoting gender equality in science and technology. Programs from PhD support to post-doctoral opportunities and career revival initiatives collectively empower thousands of women scientists across India.

At a glance intelligent-ray fellowship program

These programs address significant intervals in scientific education, research funds, career continuity and leadership development. From school-level interventions to senior scientific support, the scheme has already strengthened thousands of women, resulting in 5,000+ research publications and the next generation women science leaders have been created.
