The Haryana government has approved a total of 1,15,325 teaching posts in government schools, including primary teachers (PRT), trained graduate teachers (TGTs), and Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), of which 99,666 posts are currently filled. These posts are distributed in various districts, which ensure enough employees in schools to maintain quality education. Of the total, 9,276 posts are specially allocated to the Mewat cadre to meet regional educational requirements. The government regularly reviews and updates the sanctioned posts to bridge the lack of teachers and increase the education system of the state.

According to official data, 15,659 teaching posts remain vacant and these vacancies are present in various districts, some districts have more teachers than sanctioned posts. PGT is the highest number of vacancies for PGT teachers after TGT and PRT posts. The good news is that HTET exam 2025 eligible candidates will be eligible to apply for these vacancies. Additionally, vacancies are classified based on different reservation criteria, including general, OBC, SC, X-Serviceman (ESM), Sports, EWS, and Disabled Person (PWD). Steps taken by Haryana Government. To fill the vacancies

- Recruitment of PRT teachers: The Haryana government has already sent a requirement to HSSC for the recruitment of 1,456 PRT teachers for Mewat cadre. 5% PRT vacancies have been reserved under the pre-Gratia grant policy.
- Recruitment of TGT teachers: The government has decided to recruit 3,427 TGT teachers in various subjects through Haryana Kaushal Rosagar Nigam (HKRN).
- Recruitment of PGT teachers: A total of 4,780 PGT vacancies were sent to Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). 1,672 appointments have already been recommended by HPSC, and appointment letters are being issued. The remaining vacancies are expected to be filled before the next academic session.
- Publicity for pgt post: The government is also filling 4,550 PGT posts through promotion. So far, 3,371 cases of promotion have been processed, and the promotion process is going on.
