To be eligible for Project Research Scientist-I status in IIIT Kalyani, candidates have to fulfill the following qualifications:

- MS (PHARM)/ M.Pharm/ M.Sc/ M.Tech or First Class Post Graduate Degree in equivalent, specialization in electronics and communication engineering, radio physics, electronics, or biotechnology.
- Or, second-class post-graduate degree in the same areas with PhD.

Desirable skill: Candidates should have sound knowledge of device physics, semiconductor and nanotechnology.
