Ladki Bahini Yojana: Many types of schemes are being run for women by the central and state governments. The aim of the government behind starting these schemes is to empower women so that they can be uplifted. Due to this, Maharashtra government has started a new scheme. The name of this scheme is My Girl Sister Scheme. This scheme has been started for the women of Maharashtra Government. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the economically weak women in the state. Under the scheme, monthly financial assistance of Rs 1500 is provided every month to economically weaker women.
Three free LPG cylinders will be available under the scheme
Under this scheme, women from poor families get three free LPG cylinders every year, which provides them necessary assistance for their household needs. Under this scheme, college fees of girls belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will also be waived, which will benefit about 2 lakh girls of the state. This will help girls from poor families to take admission in colleges for higher education. By taking advantage of this scheme, girls will be able to fulfill their educational goals without any financial hindrance.
Required eligibility for the scheme
- The benefit of this scheme will be given only to women.
- To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is mandatory for the woman to be a permanent resident of Maharashtra state.
- The age limit of the woman applying should be between 18 years to 60 years.
- The total annual income of the applicant’s family should be less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
- No member of the family should pay income tax.
- No one from the applicant’s family should be in a particular government job.
- Those women who are already receiving additional benefit of Rs 1500 through other economic schemes from Rashtrapati Bhavan under various government departments are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
- Women from families of current or former Members of Parliament (MP) or Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) also cannot apply for this scheme.
