Maharashtra Forest Guard Selection Process

The selection process for Maharashtra Forest Guard consists of three different stages:

  1. Computer Based Testing (CBT): This is the first round where the knowledge of the candidate is tested.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify for CBT proceed for the Physical Efficiency Test, where their physical fitness is assessed through tasks such as running, long jump and high jump.
  3. Document Verification: After clearing the PET round, candidates will have to undergo document verification to confirm their eligibility and authenticity.

Maharashtra Forest Guard Exam Pattern

Candidates should be aware of the exam pattern to prepare effectively. The examination will be conducted online (computer-based test) in objective multiple choice format. The exam pattern is as follows:

  • total marks: 120
  • Negative Marking: 0.50 marks for each wrong answer
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Minimum passing marks: 45%

Maharashtra Forest Guard PET and DV Test

Candidates who qualify the Computer Based Examination will be called for Physical Efficiency Test. In this round, the physical fitness of the candidates will be assessed through tasks like running, long jump and high jump. Those who qualify PET will proceed to the document verification round. Document verification is the last part of the selection process. Candidates must bring the necessary documents as specified by the examination conducting body. Candidates who complete the document verification round will be selected as Forest Guard in Maharashtra.
