Eligibility Criteria Recruitment 2024
To be eligible for this post, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
- Officers of the Central or State Governments, Union Territories or autonomous organizations,
- Holding a similar post on a regular basis, or
- Must have five years’ regular service in Level-10, or
- Six years’ regular service in Level-8, or
- Seven years regular service in Level-7.
- Educational qualification,
- Master’s degree or equivalent diploma in Library Science from a recognized university.
- Five years professional experience in a supervisory role in a library.
- Desirable Qualifications,
- Experience in computerizing library activities.
- Professional experience in specific disciplines governed by the Ministry.
- pay scale: Level-11 in Pay Matrix (Rs. 67,700-2,08,700/-)
- pre modified: Pay Band-3, Rs. With Grade Pay Rs.15,600-39,100/-. 6,600/-.
- method of recruitment: By composite method (promotion/deputation including short term contract).

Duties and Responsibilities:- As a Library and Information Officer, you will have many important duties, which include:
- To supervise the library.
- To manage all file work related to the library.
- To organize and conduct meetings of the book selection committee.
- Preparing minutes of meetings.
- Compiling bulletins for source material.
- Making detailed subject bibliography.
- Summarizing and indexing articles.
- Receiving new books, acts, codes and decisions.
