Major changes in PM Awas Yojana

- Expansion of category of beneficiaries: Now apart from EWS and LIG, people from middle income group (MIG) can also avail the benefits of this scheme.

- Increase in carpet area: The maximum carpet area for EWS category has been increased from 30 square meters to 36 square meters.

- Widows and single women: Those who are the sole earning member of their family.
- Disabled Persons: Those whose disability is 40% or more.
