REET Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification
REET (Rajasthan Eligibility Test for Teachers) eligibility criteria outlines the requirements for candidates wishing to teach in Rajasthan. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) or equivalent qualification from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates can apply for B.Ed. Studying in the final year of. are also eligible to apply. It is necessary to fulfill the age criteria prescribed by the Government of Rajasthan. Completing these qualifications ensures that candidates can take the REET exam and pursue a career in teaching within the state.
REET Educational Qualification for Class IV: (Primary Stage):
Passed or appearing in the final year of Senior Secondary and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education with at least 50% marks.
Or
Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Or
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.Ed.).
Or
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Or
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Or
Graduate passed with B.Ed from recognized university (Revised Eligibility Criteria)
Or
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with Diploma in Elementary Education from NIOS.(Revised Eligibility Criteria)
REET Educational Qualification for Class VI-VIII (Preliminary Stage):
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Or
Graduation or Post Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
Or
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
Or
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.Ed.).

Note:- Amendment notification number F.No. NCTE-Reg/012/22/2019-US(Regulation)-HQ. Dated 13 November 2019 “At least 50% marks in Graduation or Post-Graduation and B.Ed..” The following provision was added – “Provided that the minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not apply to the incumbents who had already taken admission to Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course before 29th July, 2011.”

Candidates are eligible to fill the application when their minimum age is 18 years, there is age relaxation for reserved category candidates.

reet qualifying marks 2024
A person who scores 60% or more marks in TET exam will be considered as TET pass. Relaxation of up to 5% in the qualifying marks in minimum educational qualification for eligibility will be given to candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD.

The weightage of marks obtained in REET exam has been increased in REET teaching recruitment exam. Earlier, the weightage of REET marks was only 70% and 30% was for the academic weightage of the candidates. Now it has been changed to 90:10.
Validity of REET Certificate
The validity of REET exam certificate has been extended to lifetime. Candidates who have qualified the REET exam will now be eligible for the next level selection process on the basis of marks scored in the exam throughout their life. Earlier, the REET certificate was valid only for three years.
