RRB ALP Exam Date 2024 Released, Check CBT 1 Exam Schedule


RRB ALP Exam Date 2024 has been announced for the candidates interested in Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and other posts. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts ALP exam to fill 18,799 vacancies in various railway zones of India. This year’s exam is much awaited, with a large number of candidates expected to appear. The first stage of the exam, CBT 1, will evaluate candidates on General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematics and General Science.

As per the official notification, RRB ALP CBT 1 exam 2024 is scheduled to be held 25 November to 29 November 2024Candidates who have registered for the exam should start preparing for this important stage as the exam is designed to test their aptitude and problem-solving skills. The admit card for CBT 1 is expected to be released a few weeks before the exam. Candidates should ensure that they check the official RRB website for updates and download their hall tickets when available.

RRB ALP selection process consists of CBT 1, CBT 2, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) and Document Verification. The last RRB ALP notification was in 2018, which attracted 47.45 lakh applicants. Eligibility for RRB ALP exam is limited to candidates in the age group of 18-30 years with minimum educational qualification of Matriculation/SSLC.

The RRB ALP 2024 selection process is structured to filter and evaluate candidates based on their performance in multiple stages. The Preliminary CBT-I is thorough, ensuring that only competent candidates proceed to the more intensive CBT-II, which directly impacts their eligibility for further selection rounds. The final stage, CBAT, is for ALP candidates, which focuses on their specific qualifications for the role. RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024: CBT I

The first stage of the RRB ALP 2024 exam, which is applicable for both Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technician posts, is a qualifying round. This means that the marks of this stage will not be counted in the final merit list.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024: CBT II

Candidates who secure the required cutoff in CBT-I will proceed to the second stage, CBT-II. This phase is divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.

  • Part A,
    • Question: It contains 100 MCQs.
    • Duration:Candidates have 90 minutes to complete this part.
    • Topics covered: Questions cover Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering, and General Awareness of Current Affairs.
    • negative marking: A penalty of â…“ marks is deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Objective: Marks of Part A are used to shortlist the candidates for further selection rounds.
  • Part B,
    • Question: It contains 75 MCQs.
    • Duration:Candidates have 60 minutes to complete this part.

    • Objective: Part B is purely qualifying in nature and does not affect the overall merit ranking.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2024: CBAT

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) is exclusively for the candidates applying for Assistant Loco Pilot posts.

  • Language: Question papers are available in both English and Hindi.
  • Importance: The ratio for the final selection is 70:30. In the final merit list, 70% marks will be considered for CBT II Part A and 30% marks will be considered for CBAT.

For each stage of RRB ALP 2024, the qualifying marks are classified category-wise. Candidates have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for the next stage of the selection process and ultimately the final selection.
