Factors to Consider When Choosing Your State
There are many factors that you should consider before choosing your state for SBI Clerk 2024 exam. Now we will discuss all the factors in detail:-
If the number of vacancies is more, the competition becomes a little less, as more candidates get a chance to get selected. And when the number of vacancies is less the competition increases. The number of candidates registered is usually the same, but with fewer opportunities available, it means more candidates are competing for the same position. The level of difficulty increases in terms of scoring and the cut-off marks also increase.
There are many benefits in choosing your home state for SBI Clerk exam. Being familiar with the local language, culture, and region-specific banking practices makes it easier to adapt to the work environment. Staying in your home state eliminates the stress of relocation and maintains a good work-life balance. There is no provision for Inter Circle Transfer/Inter State Transfer when you are admitted, so you should keep this in mind while choosing your state.
While selecting a state for SBI Clerk exam, it is important to analyze the state wise cut-off trends. The cut off marks vary annually depending on factors such as difficulty of the exam, number of vacancies and performance of the candidate. For example, in 2023, the cut-off of preliminary exam for general category ranged from 56.5 to 77 marks in different states. These variations highlight the importance of analyzing state-wise cut-off trends to understand the level of competition.
In the SBI Clerk 2024 selection process, candidates have to qualify the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) for the local language of their chosen state. This examination is conducted after qualifying the main examination but before joining the bank. If a candidate fails in LPT, he/she will not be appointed. But candidates who have studied the local language in class 10th or 12th can skip this exam by providing relevant mark sheets or certificates. Choosing a state where you are already proficient in the local language can make your preparation easier and eliminate the need for LPT, making it an important factor in your decision.
