SSC Stenographer Tier 1 comprises three sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension, while Tier 2 comprises Shorthand Skill Test. SSC Stenographer Exam Overview
Staff Selection Commission has released SSC Stenographer Syllabus and Exam Pattern for SSC Stenographer Exam. Candidates should get an overall idea about the examination.
- The Tier 1 exam is divided into three parts: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension.
- Tier 1 consists of 200 questions, each of one mark, totaling 200 marks. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The examination is conducted in both English and Hindi except the English language section.
- In Tier 2, candidates will take a shorthand skill test where they will listen to a paragraph being dictated and then type it on the computer. The dictation speed for Grade C is 100 words per minute (wpm). The dictation speed for grade D is 80 words per minute (wpm).

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern Tier 1
SSC Stenographer Tier 1 exam consists of three sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The examination will be conducted online in Computer Based Test (CBT) format consisting of a total of 200 questions, each question carrying 1 mark. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the exam is 2 hours and will be conducted in both English and Hindi languages.

SSC Stenographer Skill Test Exam Pattern
Depending on their preference selected during submission of online application form, candidates will get 10 minutes dictation time in English or Hindi. Tier 2 will be a skill test where candidates will first have to write one paragraph on any topic in 10 minutes at a speed of 100 words per minute (WPM) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade C. would write.
