How to submit UGC NET application form 2024 online?

  • Candidates have to fill all the required information in the UGC NET application form.
  • They have to fill their details like name, gender, parents name etc.
  • After this, they have to mention their permanent residential address including pin code number, district and state and other details.
  • They should mention their educational qualification along with course name, college/institute name, year of passing, percentage of marks etc. in the given section.

How to upload signature and photo on its official website?

Candidates must read the instructions on how to upload the signature and photograph of the candidates for the application form. Without uploading the images with correct dimensions and size, the application form will not be considered by the competent authorities.

  • Candidates are required to upload scanned copy of photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format only.
  • The size of the scanned image of the photograph should be between 10kb to 200kb. There is no need to authenticate the photo.
  • The size of the scanned image of the signature should be between 4kb to 30kb. The candidate should sign his/her complete signature in running handwriting with black ink pen on white paper and scan the same for uploading.
  • Wearing glasses in photos is allowed only if used regularly.
  • Polaroids and computer generated photographs are not acceptable.
  • The same passport size photograph is to be used for uploading with the online UGC NET application form and pasting on the attendance sheet at the examination centre.

Comment: Category Certificate (if applicable): If you belong to reserved category (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PWD), scanned copy of your respective category certificate is required.

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligibility Criteria: UR/UR-EWS candidates must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s degree or equivalent from UGC-recognized Universities/Institutes.
  • Eligibility for NET Qualifier:
    • Candidates who have qualified NET with a four-year undergraduate degree can apply for admission to Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Ph.D. Programme, except for the post of Assistant Professor.
    • A minimum of 75% marks is required in a four-year undergraduate degree.
  • Focus on relaxation: 5% relaxation in marks is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Persons with Disability and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories.
  • Age Limit:
    • Candidates applying for JRF posts should not be more than 30 years of age
    • There is no upper age limit for admission to Assistant Professor posts and Ph.D. Program.
