UGC-NET is an examination to determine the eligibility of Indian citizens for the award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D., and admission to Ph.D. Only in Indian universities and colleges. Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2024 December Exam
Qualifying Test: Any UR/UR-EWS candidate who has obtained at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by the UGC.
Or
Candidates who qualify NET on the basis of four-year undergraduate degree will be eligible to apply online for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and admission to Ph.D., but not for Assistant Professor. They must secure a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate in a four-year undergraduate degree.
Comment: A relaxation of 5% marks is given for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Persons with Disability, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
Age Limit: Must not be more than 30 years as on 01st day of the month in which the examination ends i.e. 01.06.2024 for JRF posts and there is no age limit for admission to Assistant Professor and Ph.D.

Steps to submit UGC NET application form 2024
Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for UGC NET Application Form 2024.
- Click on the above UGC NET Application Form 2024 link to be redirected to the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- A new window appears on your screen. If you are a new user, click on the “New Registration” button to register yourself. Otherwise, fill in your details and click on the “Sign In” button.
- Fill in all the required details: Application Number, Password and Security PIN, and then click on the Login button.
- Now select the exam center and medium of examination for UGC NET 2024 in which you want to appear the paper.
- Enter your Aadhar card number, select your gender and category and finally choose employment status and qualifying exam status.
- Now fill your educational details, latest qualification you have, your percentage etc.
- After that, you are required to provide your communication address, phone number and email ID.
- Upload your photo and signature. Both the images should be in jpg/jpeg format and have white background.
- You will be directed to the payment page. Payment for UGC NET 2024 exam can be made through online or offline mode.
- Click on “SUBMIT” button. Download the confirmation page for future reference.
