Before applying for UGC NET exam, candidates should be aware of the basic eligibility criteria which is based on the age and educational qualification of the candidate. Any candidate who provides incorrect details regarding his/her age or educational qualification in the online registration form will have his/her application rejected immediately. Candidates who want to apply for UGC NET 2024 December cycle are required to meet a certain age limit and age relaxation is also provided to reserved categories like SC/ST, OBC-NCL and PWD. The age limit criteria for JRF, Assistant Professorship and PhD are given below:
- Candidates who are applying for NTA NET Junior Research Fellowship should not be more than 30 years of age.
- There is no age limit specified by NTA for candidates applying for admission to Assistant Professorship and Ph.D.
