UP Free Smartphone Scheme has been launched by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath to provide technical facilities to the talented and economically weak college candidates of the state.

Under the UP Free Smartphone Scheme, smartphones are given to the candidates absolutely free. The process of this scheme is being conducted sequentially every year, under which smartphones are going to be available to such eligible candidates in the year 2024 also.

Candidates who want to get a smartphone from the government will have to submit their application to the college institution keeping in mind their eligibility, only after which they will be selected by the college to provide benefits.

UP Free Smartphone Scheme

Under the UP Free Smartphone Scheme, a target has been set that every year up to 25 lakh students studying in colleges in all the districts of the state will be given smartphones so that they can study in a better way by combining their education with technical facilities.

This scheme is a state level scheme for which some eligibility criteria and qualifications of the students have also been kept separate so that this benefit can reach only those students who are completely eligible for it.

  • To avail the benefit of UP Free Smartphone Scheme, it is mandatory for the candidate to be a native of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Candidates should have 75% or more marks in class 10th and 12th.
  • Those candidates whose family condition is not good and are ration card holders can apply for this scheme.
  • The smartphone scheme is applicable only for the candidates studying in college.
