What is DAF in UPSC? Learn about DAF before preparing UPSC


In India, the Civil Service Examination (CSE) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, under which the youth of India are selected for the higher posts like IAS, IPS, IFS etc. This exam is conducted once a year, its preliminary examination (prelims) is conducted in September or October and the main examination (Mains) in December or January and interviews in March-April.

You can become an IAS by reading all the books related to it and getting good marks in the result of this exam by preparing according to IS syllabus, and can avail the salary and allowances received in it. To succeed in this exam, the candidate should have knowledge of UPSC Pre Syllabus and UPSC Mains Syllabus.

DAF FULL Form – DAF’s full form

DAF’s flower form is a detailed application form, DAF has to fill and upload the DAF online on the official website of UPSC to apply for the main examination. Before knowing how to fill DAF, let’s take a look at some important guidelines to be followed while filling the DAF.

What is UPSC DAF

After passing the Candidate Main Examination (Mains), the online application form of detailed application form (DAF) is issued by the Commission, in which the Commission sought complete information about it from the candidate. In DAF form, the following types of information have to be given to the candidate like –

  1. Candidates want to go to which cadre.
  2. What is the qualification of the candidate.
  3. Whether the candidate is working or not, if yes, it is necessary to tell about which field working and his experience.
  4. Information about the candidate’s choice and his or his interest has to be given.
  5. The candidate has to be informed about the family and income of the candidate.
  6. Which game is interested in the game and the information is to be given to the Commission through this form.

If a candidate has applied for this form and he would inform his work experience, then the candidate has to give a certificate to the Commission who is working in any private or government institution or was working in the past and forgetting it. Also, no wrong information should be given this form, otherwise the form of the candidate can be canceled by the Commission and the candidate can also be out of the examination.

Almost every year 12000 to 15000 candidates apply for this form and due to some mistakes their form is canceled, then the candidate should choose the cadre and his post while applying for the DAF form online. If they have a certificate related to whatever information has been given by the candidate in DAF form, then attach it while applying.

DAF consists of 8 parts, and each part has to be filled, DAF filling easier and giving a clear picture to candidates to fill DAF, DAF samples images are given below and are important areas of highlighted areas. Where candidates have to be careful while filling and submitting it, candidates cannot get a chance to change it later.
