What is NMMS Scholarship?

NMMS scheme is an award scheme. its full name National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship which is in Hindi language National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Are called. This is a scheme issued by the Government of India with the aim of promoting student welfare and education. NMMS scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

How do NMMS schemes work?

Under the NMMS scheme, every year one lakh students of the country are awarded an amount of Rs 12,000/- per student. Beneficiary students for the scheme are selected through a national examination. Out of the total students passing this examination, the top 1 lakh students are selected to receive awards under the scheme.

Who is eligible for the NMMS exam?

Those students who are currently studying in class 9 are eligible for the National Sadhak cum Merit Scholarship Examination. For this, it is necessary that the students have passed the previous class (Class-8) with minimum 55% marks. The minimum marks limit has been set at 50% for SC and ST students. Along with these qualifications, some other conditions have also been imposed by the department for applying in NMMS examination, information about which is being given through the list below-

• This scheme is only for the students coming from economically weak families, hence only those students whose family income is equal to or less than Rs 1.50 lakh per annum are eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme.
• For this, only students currently studying in any school receiving financial aid from government/government or any local body can apply.

Disqualification:- Students studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools etc. are not eligible to apply for this examination.

NMMS Scholarship 2024 Apply Online

• To apply online for NMMS Scholarship, first of all open the online portal.
• Now go to the Students section here and click on Login.
• Now create your Student ID on this portal.
• After creating ID, login with the help of your ID password.
• Now go to the scholarship list and National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Select.
• After this, select the option related to New Form Application in the scheme.
• After this the online form of NMMS will open.
• Fill this form and upload your documents in the required format.
• Finally submit the form and take a printout of the application.

After applying the form, you can login back to this portal with the help of your student ID and password for any information related to your application.
