Candidates have been barred from applying for primary teaching posts. Earlier, B.Ed. Candidates were considered eligible for PRT roles for a brief period from 2018, as BTC and D.El.Ed candidates were given preference.

The eligibility criteria for RRB Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025 includes:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • 10+2 with at least 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or equivalent.
    • Graduation with at least 50% marks and A Bed. degree,
    • Post Graduate with minimum 55% marks and 3 years integrated experience B.Ed.-M.Ed. degree.
  • TET Eligibility: Candidates must qualify the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate government.
  • Language Competency: Proficiency in teaching in English medium is essential.
  • Relaxation in Reservation: Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PWBD) are eligible for 5% relaxation in qualifying marks.
