BPSC Exam Pattern 2024

The exam pattern released by Bihar Public Service Commission is as follows –

  1. The question paper of preliminary examination will be bilingual i.e. in both Hindi and English languages.
  2. The nature of all questions in this examination will be of multiple choice type.
  3. Pre exam will be conducted for 150 marks.
  4. For this you will be provided a total of 2 hours.
  5. There is a provision of negative marking of 0.25 marks in this examination.

BPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2024

The exam pattern of main examination is as follows –

  1. Mains exam will be mainly a written exam.
  2. There will be a total of five question papers in this examination.
  3. A total of 3 (three) hours will be provided to you for each question paper.
  4. As earlier it used to be that you used to have a written examination for the optional subject, but now this examination will be conducted in multiple choice form, the marks of this question paper will not be recorded in the final merit list of the main examination, this examination will be conducted only like General Hindi. Will be of qualifying type only.

Candidates who qualify the BPSC Pre Exam will be considered eligible for BPSC Mains Exam, the Commission calls candidates for Mains Exam, approximately 10 times of the vacant recruitment.

  1. Questions on General Studies will be in both Hindi and English languages.
  2. Hindi subject is a qualifying paper which has to be passed only.
  3. It is mandatory to score at least 30 marks out of 100 marks subject.
  4. The marks of Hindi subject will not be included in the final merit.
  5. Final merit will be made on the basis of only 3 subjects of Mains.

  1. Candidates who qualify the main examination are called for the final stage of examination i.e. interview.
  2. Interview is of 120 marks.
  3. Final merit is prepared on the basis of total 1020 marks (120 marks for interview and 900 marks for main examination).
