How is CAT percentile calculated?

CAT percentage is calculated based on the performance of the students participating in the examination. In this process the marks of a candidate are compared with all the other candidates. Here we explain.

1. Every candidate will get the marks mentioned in the question paper.

2. +3 marks are awarded for each correct answer and there is a negative marking of -1 mark.

3. To generate scaled CAT scores, the raw scores for each section and overall are initially normalized. These normalized scores are then converted into percentages, and the final results are displayed on the CAT scorecard.

CAT cut off for top colleges

Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) do not publicly disclose CAT cutoff marks. Students can estimate the approximate cutoff by analyzing the percentage marks of selected students in previous years. In top IIMs, students must have a 99+ percentile score.
