Haryana Free Plot Yojana: The cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. In the Haryana Cabinet Meeting, the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme-E-Mistor (MMGAY-E) has been approved. This ambitious scheme is an extension form of the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme and its objective is to provide 50 classes of weaker sections in rural areas, especially landless families in Mahagram Panchayats and 100 square yard residential plots in general panchayats. That is, plots will be made available to BPL families under this scheme.
Plots will be made available to BPL families by government
This is a great initiative of the government launched for poor families. Under the scheme, the eligibility of the applicant will be tested by the department and a plot will be allocated on payment of a lump sum cost of only Rs 1,000. After providing the plot, possession will be issued as the right letter. The beneficiary will be provided compensation if physical possession of the plot developed within 2 years of the allocation letter ie the allotment letter. Under this scheme, the government will provide the price of land to the gram panchayats according to the actual collector rate of agricultural land.
Beneficiaries will get different types of benefits
This scheme will give benefits to those families whose family identity card (PPP) has an annual income up to Rs 1.80 lakh. The scheme provides financial assistance of up to Rs 6,00,000 as a lawn at low interest from nationalized banks, housing finance companies and micro finance institutions to help the beneficiaries meet their home construction. This scheme of the government will improve the standard of living of the families of the poor class.

In the period of 2024-2027, the estimated project cost for MMGAY-E has been fixed at Rs 2,950.86 crore. The Haryana government is showing commitment to every rural family to ensure safe and protected housing. This will promote the economic and social stability of the weaker sections of the society. In such a situation, this scheme of the government is really commendable. Under this scheme, people who do not have housing will be provided a plot by the government.
