IBPS PO interview is an important phase in the selection process to display candidates. Each candidate’s experience is unique, and the panel of interviewers not only plays an important role in assessing technical knowledge, but also the mutual skills of the applicants. Below we shared experiences with candidates appearing for IBPS PO interview on 11 February 2025.
IBPS PO Interview Experience 1
I was called for an IBPS PO interview at Savi Grand Hotel in Bhopal, and I was assigned panel 2, with five members – four men and a woman. The interview started with the chairman, who first asked me about my disability. This was an important question because I have a disability, and he wanted to understand how I would handle the physical demands of the job, especially when it came to open market activities and loans.
- How will you go to the market and open loans, given that you are disabled?
I told how I will use accessories and technology to facilitate my dynamics. I also highlighted my adaptability and ability to find alternative ways to reach customers. - How do you deal with challenges, and what are your skills that make you the right choice for this role?
I talked about the skills, communication abilities and my adaptability to solve my problem, especially in situations that require creative solutions. - Tell me about the recent changes in MSME Turnover and Investment.
I provided an update reaction to an increase in MSME investment, especially due to government plans, which provide financial assistance to small businesses. - If you were asked to open 100 accounts a day, where will you start?
I suggested that I would contact local businesses, farmers and entrepreneurs who may benefit from having an account. I also mentioned the advantage of digital platforms to focus on existing relationships and open an account rapidly. - What is the new board being established and why is it being built?
I was not fully certain about this question, but I thought it could be related to a new regulatory body to monitor the MSME region. I should have explained my answer better. - If you are a branch manager and your junior is not doing his work properly, what will you do?
I emphasized the importance of creative response, understood the reasons behind poor performance, and helped them improve through training and motivation. - Tell me about insurance plans for unbank rural people.
I talked about PMJJBY (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana) and PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana), which aims to provide cheap life and accident insurance to people in rural areas.
Overall, I answered seven out of eight questions well, but I felt that I had not handled a question properly as I can. Despite this, I felt that the overall experience was creative and attractive.
IBPS PO Interview Experience 2
I interviewed my IBPS PO in Bhopal at the same place, lover Grand Hotel, but my experience was a bit different. The panel again consisted of five members, and questions were a mixture of technical, status and personal questions.
- How will your B-Tech degree in the banking sector help?
I mentioned how my technical background will help in the banking sector, especially with technology-operated services such as Internet banking, mobile app and data analysis. - As a computer graduate, why did you not apply for the role of IBPS Specialist Officer (SO)?
I explained that when SO Role align more with my technical background, I chose PO’s role because I am more interested in leadership and management opportunities, where I can interact with customers and various banking works Can handle - How do you plan to meet the time limit and goals in a fast -moving environment?
I shared examples with my educational and internship experiences, where I had to avoid many tasks and manage time efficiently to complete the deadline. - How will you handle a customer who is trying to put political pressure on you?
I highlighted the importance of maintaining professionalism and following moral guidelines, it does not matter. I politely inform them about the policies of the bank and maintain a firm stand. - What is the current repo rate?
I gave the correct answer, mentioning the current rate and how it affects the economy. - What about reverse repo rate?
I told how the reverse repo rate is the rate on which the RBI borrows money from commercial banks and how it affects liquidity in the banking system. - What is the borrowing of the priority sector?
I explained the concept of PSL and its objective is to credit areas such as agriculture, MSME and education, which contribute to the overall development of the economy. - We Dr. Tell me about Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.
I mentioned that Dr. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary is celebrated on 14 April and he briefly discussed his contribution to Indian society, especially in the creation of the Indian Constitution.
I answered all the questions confidently, and finally, I was asked to rate my performance in the interview. I gave myself 7 out of 10, accepting areas where I could have been more brief or provided additional details.
IBPS PO Interview Experience 3
My interview was held at the Savi Grand Hotel in Lucknow. This time the panel was more interactive, which helped me to remain calm throughout the process.
- Tell us the complete form of various banking schemes.
I was asked about schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY and Jan Dhan Jojana, which I responded without any difficulty. - What is the difference between order check and a bearer check?
I explained the differences, emphasizing the signature requirement for an order check and transferable to a bearer check. - Tell us about a film by Deepika Padukone.
This was an unexpected question! I talked Fig And its influence on Indian cinema, which helped to break the snow and gave more rest to the conversation. - How will you increase branch business?
I focused on customer engagement, community outreach, and introduced digital banking services to increase the amount of business and improve customer experience. - What type of bank do you like to work for?
I mentioned that I would like to work in a bank that encourages innovation and provides opportunities for development and leadership.
The panel was humble and encouraging, and the interview felt more like a discussion than a strict assessment. I stopped feeling confident and satisfied with my answers.
