IOCL is offering many trainee positions in various subjects, including:
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics)
- Trade Apprentice (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Data Entry Operator, Data Entry Operator – Skill Certificate Holders)
- Graduate Apprentice (BBA, BA, B.Com, B.Sc)
Qualification statement
- Technician Apprentice: Diploma in at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWBD candidates) with a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, electrical and electronics, electronics).
- Trade Apprentice: NCVT/SCVT- ITI in relevant trade from recognized institutions.
- Graduate Apprentice: Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWBD candidates) (BBA, BA, B.Com, B.Sc.).
- Data entry operator: Class 12th with Class 12th pass (for fresher category) and ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’ (for skilled certificate holders).

- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years (till 28 February 2025)
- Age relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-Creeme Layer): 3 years
- PWBD: up to 10 years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC-NCL)
Pay details
Wazifa for selected trainees will be paid according to the Apprentice Act, 1961/1973 and Apprentice Rules 1992/2019. For graduates and technician trainees, the stipe part will be paid by Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) Board, and the remaining amount will be paid by IOCL. Business trainees will get full stipend from IOCL directly.

Selection process
- Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of safe marks in the qualifying examination.
- In the case of a tie, old candidates will be given preference.
