UGC NET examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and its objective is to determine the eligibility of the candidate for the award of Assistant Professor and Junior Research at college and university level. - Master’s degree with at least 55% (50% for SC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates)
- CA, CS or ICWA can also apply

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that CA will now be considered equivalent to postgraduate degree from 15th March 2021 And hence, a candidate with CA certification does not need a master’s degree to become eligible for the UGC NET exam.
