Refund procedure: step by step guide

1. Contact the station master

  • If your train is missed, first contact the station master or deputy station master of the station from where your journey was to begin.

  • After verification, you will be released a memo.

3. Get refund at ticket counter

  • Go to the station ticket counter with memo and tickets.

If you have booked the ticket through the IRCTC website or app, you can file online TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt).

  4. After filing TDR, the refund amount will be deposited in your bank account in a maximum of 60 days.

  • If you have a general ticket and you cannot catch the train, you can travel in the next train of the same category.
  • Traveling in a second class train will have to be fined.
