Dosje and UNDP shake hands for support related to waste
On 1 May 2025 (Labor Day), the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DOSJE) signed an agreement with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The main goal of this agreement is to provide waste-pilgrims to provide better access to finance and modern technologies. Its purpose is to create a safe and durable work environment for them.
Major main attractions of agreement
The partnership also includes support for the establishment of Project Management Units (PMU) in various states under the Namast Scheme. The NAMASTE scheme is already formally functioning formally in India’s workforce, including waste-identifies.
Since the financial year 2023–24, the waste-digars have been officially added as a part of the Namaste Yojana. This scheme is to identify and include 2.5 lakh waste-pilgrims across the country through digital registration.
Waste-circle component under waste scheme
The waste-recipient component under the Namaste scheme focuses on several benefits. These steps are taken to improve the livelihood, health and working conditions of waste-identifies across India.
- Digital profiling and waste-recipient registration
- Professional photo ID card for official recognition and use of government scheme
- Health Insurance under Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY
- Training for skill development
- Personal Safety Equipment (PPE) Kit Distribution
- Capital subsidy to help them buy waste collection vehicles
- Encourage the formation of collectives that can manage decentralized waste collection centers (DWCC)
Sports for Entrepreneurship Development and Niti Aayog Team
Another major agreement in 2025 is between the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (Game) and Neeti Ayog. The purpose of this partnership is to build healthy and strong entrepreneurship ecosystems in different parts of the country.
Focus on the field of partnership
This cooperation is planning to start with pilot projects in Nagpur, Visakhapatnam and Uttar Pradesh. This will support local entrepreneurs:

The game was started in 2018 to support large -scale entrepreneurship in India. It acts as a central organization that connects partners, investors and players of the ecosystem that wants to promote entrepreneurship. Its mission is to create a nationwide movement that will help create 50 million new jobs by 2030, with a specific goal that 25% of business are owned by women.
