PM Safabhaya Yojana: An ambitious scheme has been implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide electricity to every house in the country. Name of this scheme Pradhan Mantri Saubhagya Yojana Or is the Prime Minister Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana. The Government of India has prepared a project to provide electricity to the houses behind this scheme. The project was announced in September 2017 by the Prime Minister of our country, Narendra Modi. During this time, the Prime Minister had told that the electrification process has to be completed by December 2018.
Who will get free electricity connection
Some houses identified through the socio-economic and caste census (SECC) of 2011 will be eligible for free electricity connection, while ₹ 500 fee will be paid from others. After this, the government has a website for this information to reach the general public saubhagya.gov.in Launched The total cost of this project is Rs 16,320 crore while gross budgetary assistance (GBS) is Rs 12,320 crore. Under this project, the beneficiary family will get an LED light, a DC power plug. It also includes repair and maintenance of meter for 5 years.
Plan started on the birth centenary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay
The scheme started on 25 September on the occasion of the birth centenary celebrations of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. The target of the scheme was to provide 24 × 7 electricity to all by providing electricity connection to every house across the country by 2018, which was later increased to 2019. Under the scheme, subsidy will be given on equipment like transformer, wire and meter. The Ministry of Electricity will serve as the implementation authority of the scheme. Electricity connections will be provided in both rural and urban areas of the country. Under this scheme, a pre-paid model was adopted to provide electricity to all houses. Although the deadline has been completed, but there are still some houses which have not been able to get electricity connection. But the government is constantly working for him. In areas where electricity will not be possible, solar packs will be provided by the government.

Eligibility required for plan
- The application should be of a poor family and who should not have electricity in the house.
- This free electricity will be given to those poor whose name will be recorded in the socio -economic census.
- The poor of the country whose names will not be recorded in census, they will have to pay 500 rupees for this, which they can pay in 10 installments. After this, they will also get the benefit of this scheme.
- This scheme is being run by the government in both rural and urban areas.
