PSTET Eligibility Criteria 2024, Qualification and Age Limit


PSTET Eligibility 2024:Punjab State Council of Educational Research and Training has released the Punjab State TET 2024 notification on its official website. Candidates can submit their online applications for PSTET 2024 till 4th November 2024. PSTET Exam 2024 is scheduled to be held on 1st December 2024. PSTET Eligibility Criteria 2024- Overview

PSTET or Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test is a state level examination conducted by the Punjab State Council of Educational Research and Training to test the eligibility of the candidates by the prescribed standard of the Board. PSTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Paper 1 & 2

PSEB has released the PSTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Primary and Upper Primary Teacher Posts. Punjab TET eligibility criteria for 2024 are mentioned in the detailed table below.

PSTET Paper 1: Class I to V (Primary)
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/4-one year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.Ed.)/2-one year Having Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE.
  • Candidates who have “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible to become teachers for Class IV: Primary Stage. It is mandatory for such candidates to undergo a six months bridge course in elementary education recognized by NCTE within two years of appointment as primary teacher.
PSTET Paper 2: Class VI to VIII (Upper Primary)
  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/B.Ed. Passed or appearing in final year of B.Sc. (special education).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE (Recognition Criteria and Procedure).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or B.Ed/B. .Sc.Ed.
  • Any candidate who has passed B.Ed program recognized by NCTE is eligible to appear for TET exam.
