Understanding reading for IBPS PO exam
In prelims, the RC routes are usually factual and ranges from 150 to 250 words, followed by 5-7 questions. In the main, the routes are long, more analytical, and often based on subjects such as economics, current affairs, or social issues, with 7–10 questions per route. However, for estimated-based or tone questions, it is better to read the first full route for the appropriate reference.
2. Improve reading speed with daily practice: Develop daily editorial, opinion column and business news habit. Focus on topics that usually appear in the RC route, such as banking, economy, environment and social issues. Over time, it will promote both speed and familiarity with RC themes.
3. Avoid beliefs: Make your answers strictly the basis on the information given in the route. Even if a statement is factually correct outside the passage is correct, it cannot be considered correct until the path is supported by the passage.
4. Practice findings and tone-based questions: They are mangoes and are often the most difficult. To master them, learn to differentiate between literal meaning and inherent ideas. Pay attention to the intention of the author – whether the vowel is satirical, critical, neutral or optimistic.
