SIDBI Grade A, B Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2024 for Phase 1 & Phase 2 Exam

SIDBI Grade A and B recruitment examinations have been announced in 2024, providing candidates an opportunity to join a prestigious institute focused on the development of MSMEs in India. Candidates applying for different streams like General, Legal and IT should be prepared for a rigorous three-stage selection process covering domain-specific knowledge and skill assessment. SIDBI Grade A, B Syllabus 2024

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has released the indicative syllabus and exam pattern for Grade A and Grade B posts for the 2024 recruitment cycle. SIDBI Recruitment 2024 exam pattern and syllabus are designed to meet the demand of targeted preparation approach. To get selected as Assistant Manager and Manager in SIDBI, candidates have to face 3 stage selection process i.e. Stage I, Stage II and Interview. SIDBI has also announced tentative dates for the exam, Phase I exam is scheduled for December 22, 2024, Phase II for January 19, 2025 and interview for February 2025.

SIDBI Exam Pattern 2024 is structured to rigorously evaluate candidates in two stages for both Grade A (Assistant Manager) and Grade B (Manager) roles. Stage 1 is an objective type online examination and Stage 2, which is more specific, involves a mix of objective and descriptive papers varying according to stream. Each stage has a penalty of 1/4 (one-fourth) for wrong answers, ensuring meticulous accuracy, with the qualifying score required to progress to the interview round.

The Phase 1 examination for both Grade A and B officers will test candidates’ proficiency in domain-specific knowledge. This stage is essential for screening and includes topics highly relevant to the respective streams. The exam will mainly focus on technical and financial expertise, legal knowledge or IT proficiency depending on the stream applied for.

SIDBI Phase 2 Exam Pattern 2024

The Stage 2 examination consists of two papers:

  • Paper I: English Language, which tests writing skills through essay writing, summary, comprehension and business correspondence.
  • Paper II: Domain-specific questions tailored to each stream.

Descriptive answers are to be typed using the keyboard.

  • For Legal Stream (Grade B): 6 questions will be asked, out of which candidates will have to answer 4 questions [2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each]
  • For IT Stream (Grade B): 10 questions will be asked, out of which candidates have to attempt 4 questions [2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each]

The stream-specific section will contain questions related to the specific role or department for which the candidate has applied (for example, Legal, IT, etc.).

Legal Stream (Grade B)

General Knowledge of Law:

  • Key laws include constitutional law, administrative law and statutory interpretation.
  • Detailed focus on acts related to financial and property transactions, such as the Contract Act, 1872 and the Transfer of Property Act, 1882.
  • Specific Acts: SARFAESI Act, RTI Act, Limitation Act, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).

Legal Drafting and Retrieval Law:

  • To be familiar with drafting practices, Debt Recovery and Bankruptcy (RDB) Act.
  • Legal requirements for credit recovery, foreclosure and dispute resolution.

IT Stream (Grade B)

Technical Skills:

  • Programming Languages: C, C++, Java and Python.
  • Database management, networking and security fundamentals.

Current IT Developments:

  • Emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), systems design and architecture.
  • Knowledge of cyber security, data handling and cloud infrastructure.
