Tier 2 Mechanical Syllabus for SSC JE 2024
The SSC JE 2024 Tier 2 exam paper will have three parts. SSC JE Tier 2 will be a written exam of 2 hours and 300 marks. Candidates can choose any one of the three parts of SSC JE Tier 2 exam as per their branch. SSC JE 2024 Tier 2 exam subjects are as follows:

Principles of Machines and Machine Design: Concept of a simple machine, four bar linkage and link motion, flywheel and energy dissipation, power transmission by belts – V-belts and flat belts, clutches – plate and conical clutches, gears – types of gears, gear profiles and gears Ratio calculations, Governors – theory and classification, friction in riveted joints, cams, bearings, collars and pivots.
Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials: Equilibrium of forces, law of motion, concepts of friction, stress and strain, elastic limit and elastic constant, bending moment and shear force diagrams, stresses in composite bars, torsion of circular shafts, buckling of columns – Euler and Rankine’s principles, Thin wall pressure vessels.
Properties of pure substances: PV and PT diagram of a pure substance like H2o, Introduction to steam table related to steam production process; Definition of saturation, wet and superheated conditions.
