SSC Stonographer Selection Process

Candidates have to go through the following stages to be selected to the post of SSC Stonographer-

  • Written test
  • Typing Shorthand
  • Merit list

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is as follows –

  1. The SSC stenographer written examination will be of multiple choice type.
  2. The exam time period will be 2 hours and for the visually handicapped candidates will be 2 hours 40 minutes.
  3. All questions except Part-III will be in both English and Hindi languages.
  4. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Note: Candidates who have passed the written examination will be called for computer skill test.

Tier – II exam pattern 2025

Candidates who are successful in the written examination will be called for SSC Stenographer Skill Test for final selection. In the skill test examination, 100 words per minute per minute for grade C candidates and ten minutes typing tests on the computer with a speed of 80 words per minute for grade D candidates.

The SSC stenographer will be released after the final result written examination and skill test, and the candidates who have succeeded in both these exams will be entitled to appointment letters.
