Difference between NET and JRF
UGC NET and JRF is one of the most popular examinations launched by the University Grants Commission (UGC). UGC NET and JRF examination is now conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) twice a year, i.e. during the months of June and December/January. If you qualify the NET exam then you are eligible for both Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts in Indian universities and colleges.
NTA NET is an eligibility test for Assistant Professor posts, while JRF is a competitive fellowship program offered to successful NET qualifiers to support their research work. UGC NET & JRF Cut Off Marks 2024

- Out of the total number of eligible candidates received in Phase IV, all the candidates (who applied for both Assistant Professor and JRF) will be considered for JRF.
- The total number of slots available for awarding the JRF is allocated among different categories as per the reservation policy of the Government of India. The process of subject-wise cum category-wise allotment of JRF slots is mentioned below:

The aggregate percentage obtained by the candidates in both the papers corresponding to the number of JRF slots will determine the qualifying cut-off for JRF in Economics for ST category. Similarly, cutoff will be decided for all subjects and categories.
