SSC CGL Selection Process
In the Employees Selection Commission (SSC) recruitment notification of the year 2025, the latest SSC CGL recruitment process was given details, according to the SSC CGL 2025 selection process, SSC CGL exam is conducted in the following three stages -Tier -1, Tier -2 and Document Verification (DV). SSC CGL Tier -1 and Tier -2 exams are conducted in online mode.

SSC CGL Tier 1 (Pre Exam)
Admit cards are issued for the first phase pre examination of SSC CGL selection process for candidates applying online for SSC CGL, a total of 100 questions are asked in SSC CGL Tier -1 exam, which are of 200 marks. According to SSC CGL exam pattern 2025, candidates are given 2 marks for each correct answer in Tier -1 examination and 0.50 marks are deducted for each wrong answer.
In SSC CGL Tier -1 exam, questions are asked from the subject of English, General Knowledge, General Wisdom and Logic and Mathematics etc. Candidates passing in SSC CGL Tier -1 exam are called for SSC CGL Tier -2 exam. In the table below, you can see the SSC CGL exam pattern in detail.

SSC CGL Tier 2 (Men’s Exam)
The candidates who have passed the CGL Tier -1 exam will be eligible to appear in Tier -2 and Tier -3 exams. SSC CGL Tier -2 exam is conducted in online mode. There will be 3 different papers in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam, of which all questions except Paper-I Section-III will be of multiple choice type and some of them will be conducted according to the post, the details of which you can see in SSC CGL Syllabus.
Paper-I section-I, section-II and module-I Section-III will have 1 digit for each wrong answer and Negative Making of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper-III. If you have passed SSC CGL Tier -1 exam, you will give SSC CGL Tier -2 exam, in which you need to get maximum marks as the final selection is done on the basis of the main examination.
Ssc cgl document verification
After succeeding in Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams, candidates will be called for document verification (DV), in which the basic copy and photocopy of all the documents given while applying to the candidates will have to be present in the document verification examination, besides the candidates will also need some additional documents which are the following.
- Colorful photos of two passport size
- An original photo-containing identity cards like Aadhar Card / E-Aadhaar printout, election identity card, driving license, PAN card, passport, or any other photo ID issued by the Central Government / State Government.
After the document testing, the final result of CGL is released by SSC, and appointment letters are provided to the selected candidates.
