Was GA your weakest link? Discover this most difficult year in SBI Po Main!

The SBI PO Mains Exam can be a make or break factor for many candidates in the SBI PO Mains Examination. While most of the candidates focus too much on logic and quantity, the GA section sometimes holds them from the guard. One such year where this happened, the SBI PO Mains exam was 2021. It is widely considered one of the most difficult years for the GA section, and many candidates struggle despite being well prepared. Let us understand what is challenging from this and how you can avoid similar mistakes in future exams.

What was SBI PO Mains 2021 Examination

SBI PO Mains Exam 2021 had a general structure: with a descriptive paper with four main objective section (logic and computer qualifications, data analysis and interpretation, general awareness and English language). Each section was given different time and there were many specific questions. The total time for objective paper was 3 hours, followed by 30 minutes for descriptive tests.

In all classes, GA became unexpectedly difficult. While other sections maintained a standard difficulty level, GA had questions that were detailed, misleading and heavy facts based.

Why was GA section so difficult in SBI PO Mains 2021

Many candidates and experts agree that the GA section in SBI PO Mains 2021 was more difficult than normal. Questions were not only based on current affairs, but also deep aspects of economics, government schemes, international events and complex financial terms.

To answer the questions correctly, the candidates needed to go beyond daily news. They had to understand the background, purpose and the implications of various policies and events. This made the block feel heavy for many people, even those who were ready through regular news and through monthly capsules.

How did GA section compare other years

While the GA section has always been unpredictable, 2021 stood out due to the depth and diversity of the subjects. In the previous years, GA Questions were mostly focused on the last 3 to 4 months of current affairs and banking awareness. But in 2021, the questions went back for several months and demanded a comprehensive understanding of subjects, including global news and economic reports. This change made it difficult for those candidates who rely on recent current matters. Even those who regularly read the current affairs capsules found it difficult to score well, as the required level level was much higher than normal.
